Terms of Service.

Last updated September 19, 2026.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the Web Globalization Report Card, published at webglobalizationreportcard.com (the “Service”), by Byte Level Research (“we,” “us,” “our”). By creating an account, subscribing, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you’re using the Service on behalf of an organization, you’re confirming you have the authority to bind that organization, and “you” refers to both you and it.

1. The Service

The Web Globalization Report Card is an independent research product covering how large companies localize their websites — languages supported, global navigation, mobile design, and related scoring, published annually since 2005. Some content is available without an account, some requires a Free account, and the full archive requires a paid Professional or Enterprise subscription, as described on our Pricing page.

2. Accounts

You need an account to access Free, Professional, or Enterprise content. You’re responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for activity that happens under your account. Accounts are personal to the individual who registers them; an Enterprise subscription’s included seats are for named individuals at your organization, not a shared login. We may limit the number of active sessions or devices associated with an account to enforce these seat limits.

3. Subscriptions & billing

Professional and Enterprise subscriptions are billed annually in advance through Stripe, our payment processor. We don’t store your card details — Stripe handles and secures all payment information. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price unless cancelled before the renewal date. We’ll do our best to give advance notice of any price change before it applies to a renewal.

4. Cancellation & refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings or by contacting us. Cancellation stops future renewals; access continues through the end of the billing period you’ve already paid for. Payments already made are non-refundable except where required by law or at our discretion.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Share your account credentials, or a seat licensed to one person, with anyone else
  • Scrape, systematically extract, republish, or redistribute Report Card data or scores outside your organization’s internal use, without our written permission
  • Use automated tools to circumvent seat, device, or access limits
  • Reverse engineer, resell, or use the Service to build a competing product
  • Use the Service in a way that disrupts it for other subscribers

6. Intellectual property

The scores, rankings, charts, written analysis, and underlying research methodology are the property of Byte Level Research and protected by copyright. Your subscription grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to view and use this content for your own or your organization’s internal purposes. It does not grant you rights to republish, syndicate, or white-label our research.

7. Research is our opinion, not a guarantee

Scores and analysis reflect our independent, hands-on research and editorial judgment at the time each site was reviewed. We work to be accurate, but websites change constantly and some judgment calls are subjective. The Service is provided for informational purposes; it’s not a substitute for your own due diligence, and we make no warranty that it’s complete, current, or error-free.

8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Byte Level Research won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, and our total liability for any claim won’t exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, including abuse of seat limits or the acceptable-use section above. You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We’ll update the date at the top of this page when we do; continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
