Caterpillarscored September 2026
Caterpillar stated linguistically static over the past year. There were signs that it was attempting to harmonize its global gateway between caterpillar.com and cat.com, though more work is needed. We noticed an AI support agent across many localized sites, but only available in English. We would like to also see Cat.com remove its splash gateway in favor of geolocation and language detection.

Global Gateway
Before & After
Caterpillar moved away from the pull-down menu in favor of a fly-out menu. While the usability may ultimately be a lateral move, we did see a positive in the addition of the displayed language next to the globe icon. Ultimately we'd like to see a more locale-based approach similar to the Cat.com site, but perhaps this is a step in that direction.
